# Search people

Returns Salesloft people, the contacts and leads a team works, that match filters such as email address, name, company, title, account or cadence.

Over the API, filters are query parameters such as `email_addresses`,
`title`, `account_id` and `cadence_id`, and `can_email=true` keeps only people
who can be emailed. The MCP tool returns each person's id, name, email and job
title; `person_by_id` (or `GET /v2/people/:id`) returns the full record.

## Set up

Use the first option your agent supports.

### MCP (official, remote)

Add this server to your agent's MCP settings, then sign in when asked.

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "salesloft": { "url": "https://mcp.salesloft.com/sse" } } }
```

Call the MCP tool `search_people`.

Server URL: https://mcp.salesloft.com/sse

### API (official)

- Base URL: https://api.salesloft.com
- Endpoint: `GET /v2/people`
- Auth: send the header `Authorization: Bearer $SALESLOFT_API_KEY`
- Docs: https://developers.salesloft.com/docs/platform/api-basics/api-key-authentication/

Before doing anything else, make one read-only call to confirm access.

## Rules

- Ask the user before anything that sends messages, costs money, or changes data.
- Never print API keys.
