# Search conversations

Returns recorded calls and meetings in Salesloft, filtered by account, person, owner, platform, duration or date, each with its title, duration, account and person.

Filter with `account_ids[]` or `person_ids[]` to review what was said with
one account or person. On the MCP server, `conversation_by_id` returns one
conversation's participants and messages. Over the API the call needs the
`conversations:read` scope, and pages hold up to 100 conversations.

## Set up

Use the first option your agent supports.

### MCP (official, remote)

Add this server to your agent's MCP settings, then sign in when asked.

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "salesloft": { "url": "https://mcp.salesloft.com/sse" } } }
```

Call the MCP tool `search_conversations`.

Server URL: https://mcp.salesloft.com/sse

### API (official)

- Base URL: https://api.salesloft.com
- Endpoint: `GET /v2/conversations`
- Auth: send the header `Authorization: Bearer $SALESLOFT_API_KEY`
- Docs: https://developers.salesloft.com/docs/platform/api-basics/api-key-authentication/

Before doing anything else, make one read-only call to confirm access.

## Rules

- Ask the user before anything that sends messages, costs money, or changes data.
- Never print API keys.
