# Generate a brief

Returns a structured brief on a CRM account, deal or contact, with its key themes, stakeholders, risks and next steps drawn from its calls and emails.

A brief takes no question. On the MCP server, accounts and deals can be found
by name, but a contact needs its CRM contact ID. Over the API, pass the
`briefName` of a brief set up in Agent Studio under AI Briefer, with
`crmEntityType`, `crmEntityId`, `workspaceId` and `timePeriod`. Each brief
consumes Gong credits, and briefs with more open-ended sections consume more.

Use the first option your agent supports.
