# Trello

Boards, lists and cards for tracking work.

Trello organizes work as cards in lists on boards.

The MCP server works on any Trello plan and connects to one workspace per authorization. It can search boards and cards, create and update cards and checklists, move cards and lists, and archive cards, but it cannot delete anything. The REST API takes OAuth 2.0 bearer tokens since September 2026, and still accepts the older API key and token pair.

The MCP server's tool names aren't published, so the tools below name only
their API calls; the server lists its own once connected.

## Tools

- tool:trello/add-card-comment — Add a comment to a card: Adds a comment with the text you pass to a card and returns the comment action.
- tool:trello/create-card — Create a card: Creates a card in a list, with an optional description, due date, members and labels, and returns the card.
- tool:trello/search — Search Trello: Finds the boards, cards, members and organizations that match a query.
- tool:trello/update-card — Update a card: Changes a card's fields, such as its list, due date, members or archived state, and returns the updated card.
