# SendGrid

Twilio's email API and marketing campaigns, with contacts, lists, segments and Single Sends.

Twilio SendGrid sends transactional email through its v3 Mail Send API and
runs Marketing Campaigns: contacts, lists and segments, and Single Sends to
them.

The CLI is the Twilio CLI, whose built-in SendGrid commands send email with
`SENDGRID_API_KEY`. EU regional subusers send mail through
`https://api.eu.sendgrid.com`. Twilio's MCP server at
`https://mcp.twilio.com/docs` indexes SendGrid's docs but can't call the API.

## Tools

- tool:sendgrid/create-segment — Create a segment: Creates a segment of the contacts that match an SQL-style query, optionally within one list, that updates as contacts change.
- tool:sendgrid/create-single-send — Create a Single Send: Creates an unscheduled draft marketing email for lists, segments or all contacts, with its content, sender and unsubscribe settings.
- tool:sendgrid/schedule-single-send — Schedule a Single Send: Sends a Single Send right away when send_at is now, or schedules it for a future ISO 8601 time.
- tool:sendgrid/send-email — Send an email: Sends an email from a verified sender, with up to 1,000 personalizations that each set their own recipients.
- tool:sendgrid/upsert-contacts — Add or update contacts: Queues up to 30,000 contacts, or 6 MB, to be created or updated in Marketing Campaigns and returns a job ID.
