# Mailchimp

Email and SMS marketing platform, with audiences, campaigns and automation flows.

Mailchimp is an email and SMS marketing platform. Its Marketing API manages
audiences of contacts, organized with tags, segments and events, and creates
and sends campaigns.

`{dc}` in the API URL is your account's data center, such as `us6`: the part
of the API key after the dash. The key works as a Bearer token (HTTP Basic
auth with any username also works), and an account gets 10 simultaneous
connections. Transactional email (formerly Mandrill) is a separate API at
`https://mandrillapp.com/api/1.0` with its own key; its MCP server at
`https://mandrillapp.com/mcp` takes that key as a Bearer token.

- tool:mailchimp/add-list-member-event — Add an event for a contact: Records a named event, with optional properties and time, for one audience contact.
- tool:mailchimp/create-campaign — Create a campaign: Creates an unsent campaign for one audience, or a segment of it, with its subject line, sender and settings.
- tool:mailchimp/send-campaign — Send a campaign: Sends a campaign to its recipients right away; an RSS campaign sends on its schedule instead.
- tool:mailchimp/tag-list-member — Tag a contact: Adds or removes tags on one audience contact, creating any active tag that doesn't exist yet.
- tool:mailchimp/upsert-list-member — Add or update a contact: Adds a contact to an audience or updates the contact with that email address, with its subscription status and merge fields.
